Mo’ money, mo’ problems: Waterfront property comes with its own set of stresses. How do you protect a home from the wind and the waves? And should you be concerned about harming the body of water in your back yard?
Shore Stewards, a free program run through Washington State University, addresses those issues.
The program provides its 1,100 members with expert advice, bulletins and workshops on managing water runoff, minimizing erosion, making landscaping choices and more. And while it doesn’t prepare reports for individual properties, it can connect homeowners with people who do.
To sign up for the free program and receive its “Guide to Shoreline Living,” contact the WSU Snohomish County Extension at 425-357-6020 or e-mail sno.shorestewards@wsu.edu. To learn more about the program, visit www.shorestewards.org.
