The Edmonds hills may be alive with “The Sound of Music” during a sing-along screening of the 1965 movie on Saturday.
The movie, based on the true story of an Austrian family’s escape from the Nazis during World War II, stars Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer. Songs include “My Favorite Things,” “Edelweiss,” “Do Re Me” and “Climb Any Mountain.” The screening shows the lyrics on screen.
People are encouraged to wear costumes. Prizes will be awarded for best outfit and everyone receives a goody bag.
“Sound of Music” screens at noon Saturday at Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave., Everett. Tickets are $15, or $10 for groups of four or more at www.ec4arts.org or 425-275-9595.
