Here’s an event that can nurture your child’s interest in science. The Future of Flight Foundation will host a “Family STEM Night” on Feb. 6 for kids interested in science, technology, engineering and math.
The event gives children a close-up look at the latest gadgets and some cutting-edge technology that’s all happening locally. The event introduces youth to hands-on activities for a chance to learn by doing.
For instance, the Society of Women Engineers will be on hand to help guests work with paper helicopters, and the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers will show off an engineering design challenge with penny boats. Students can also learn what local schools and colleges are offering regarding their STEM-related programs. The event is free but guests are strongly encouraged to register ahead of time.
To register, go to www.futureofflightfoundation.org under the events tab. For questions or to RSVP, contact Amanda@futureofflight.org or call 425-438-8100, ext. 245. “Family STEM Night” is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Feb. 6 at the Future of Flight Aviation Center, 8415 Paine Field Blvd., Mukilteo.
