Special movie events in Snohomish County

Reel World Film Series: The current series is “Film Noir — Shadows across the cityscape.” The next film is a 1955 Robert Aldrich flick, “Kiss Me Deadly,” with Ralph Meeker as Mike Hammer. Movie starts at 7 p.m. Aug. 26 at First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. On Sept. 9, see Orson Welles’ 1958 movie “Touch of Evil with Charlton Heston and Janet Leigh, Welles and Marlene Dietrich.

Everett’s Cinema Under the Stars: Friday evenings at Sullivan Park at Silver Lake, Camp Patterson field, 11405 Silver Lake Road, Everett. Entertainment starts at 7:30 p.m. Movies begin at dark. Free. On Aug. 19, see “Zootopia” (PG).

Port of Everett, Sail-in Cinema: Friday evenings at dark, Boxcar Park, 615 13th St. View from the park or aboard boat. Free. On Aug. 19, see “Top Gun” (PG).

Monroe, Movies Under the Moon: 8 p.m. Fridays, Lake Tye Park, 14964 Fryelands Blvd. Free. On Aug. 19, see “Jurassic World” (PG-13) and on Aug. 26, see “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” (PG-13).

Stanwood, Movies in the Park: Church Creek Park on 272nd St. NW. YMCA activities first, then the movie. Free, with free popcorn. On Aug. 25, see “Toy Story” and on Friday, Sept. 9, see “The Goonies.” Films at 7:30 p.m.

Independent Spirits Films: See Oscar-nominated film “Nebraska” starring Bruce Dern at 1:30 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Evergreen branch of Everett Public Library, 9512 Evergreen Way

Twisted Flicks: The Historic Everett Theatre hosts the region’s only live movie re-dubbing show, which merges improv comedy and old B movies. The Twisted Flicks guys from Jet City Improv will riff on “Brainiac” at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 20 at the theater, 2911 Colby Ave. Call 425-258-6766. Next up is “APE” on Sept. 17.

Sno-King Meaningful Movies: “Where to Invade Next” by Michael Moore, 7 p.m. Sept. 10, Edmonds Unitarian Universalist, 8109 224th St. SW, Edmonds. Donations accepted.
