“The Daughter of the Regiment”: Seattle Opera presents this Donizetti opera through Nov. 2 in French with English subtitles. Tomboy Marie is forced to become a lady in this light-hearted opera. “Dracula”: Northwest Ballet Theater presents “Dracula” at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 25 at McIntyre Hall, 5201 E. College Way, Mount Vernon. The two-act ballet is a full production with elaborate sets and costumes. Tickets are $19 to $35, available by calling 360-416-7727, ext. 2, or at www.mcintyrehall.org.

“Kylian + Pate”: Pacific Northwest Ballet presents four contemporary works, “Emergence” by Crystal Pite; “Forgotten Land” by Jiri Kylian, set to a score by Benjamin Britten; “Petite Mort”; and “Sechs Tanze,” described as “an 18th-century court gone delightfully mad.” Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8, 9, 14 and 16, 2 p.m. Nov. 9 and 1 p.m. Nov. 17. “Bright Ideas”: The Phoenix Theatre Company presents this comedy through Nov. 10. A couple will do just about anything to get their 3-year-old into the “right” preschool. Performances are at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday nights with a 2 p.m. matinee on Sundays. “Blithe Spirit”: The Whidbey Island Center for the Arts presents the Noel Coward comedy through Oct. 26. A grumpy fuss-budget writer is haunted by the ghost of his first wife. “Anything Goes”: The Cole Porter classic, recently redone on Broadway, runs through Nov. 3 at The 5th Avenue Theatre. The ’30s musical features a shipful of lovers and liars singing, dancing and scheming to such tunes as “You’re the Top,” “I Get a Kick Out of You,” “It’s De-Lovely” and “Anything Goes.” Performances are Tuesdays through Sundays with tickets from $29 to $109.75 at www.5thavenue.org or call the box office at 206-625-1900. “An Evening With Master Irish Fiddler, Kevin Burke”: Burke entertains Nov. 6 at Teatro ZinZanni along with dancer Sandy Silva and guitarist Cal Scott. Tickets are $25 and $30. “Sugar Daddies”: Famed English playwright Alan Ayckbourn directs the American premiere of his play at ACT Theatre through Nov. 3. The dark comedy takes on Faustian characteristics when a naive young woman gets entangled with an older man. “Much Ado About Nothing”: The Seattle Shakespeare Company presents Shakespeare’s comic and romantic play through Nov. 17 at the Center Theatre at Seattle Center. 305 Harrison St. This version, however, is set on the Riviera in the ’50s with original music by Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra’s Michael Brockman and a water-filled lagoon in the theater. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays and selected Sundays. Priscilla Queen of the Desert: The Paramount Theatre presents the wildly hilarious musical as three friends set out on a road trip in the Australian outback. Tickets are $30 to $85 and available at stgpresents.org. The Paramount Theatre is at 911 Pine St., Seattle.

David Sedaris: touring since the publication of his latest book, “Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls,” humorist David Sedaris will read from and sign copies of his book at 8 p.m. Nov. 11 at Benaroya Hall.
