Not going to brave the crowds at a local fireworks display on Wednesday?
You can set the mood in your living room beginning with “A Capitol Fourth” at 8 p.m. on KCTS, Channel 9, hosted by Tom Bergeron. The show includes an Olympian-filled send-off to Team USA and a musical tribute to Gene Kelly.
The concert segment will feature Marilyn Monroe doppelganger from “Smash” Megan Hilty, Kool &the Gang, the National Symphony Orchestra and Matthew Broderick singing numbers from the Broadway musical “Nice Work If You Can Get It.”
The star-spangled spectacle will close out with live cannon fire and, of course, a gigantic fireworks display. KCTS reprises the show at 9:30 p.m.
“Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular” begins at 9 p.m. on NBC (KING-, Channel 5). The display’s theme is “Ignite the Night.” KING follows up at 10 p.m. with the televised broadcast of the Family 4th at Lake Union.
KIRO, Channel 7 (CBS) presents the traditional “Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular” at 10 p.m. Michael Chiklis hosts from the Charles River Esplanade in Boston, Mass., with Jennifer Hudson and the Boston Pops Orchestra.
