Dolls, books and fashion — three elements of a fun weekend for girls.
Any family familiar with the “American Girl” book and doll phenomenon will want to set aside 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday to visit an all-ages celebration of Rebecca, the newest doll in this collection.
The event takes place at the downtown Woodinville Barnes &Noble shop, 18025 Garden Way NE. More information about the books is available at www.barnesand noble.com.
Star Guild, part of the Seattle Children’s Hospital Guild Association, is teaming with Barnes &Noble to arrange the free event, which will include prize raffles, a fashion show and a reading from “Meet Rebecca.”
The historical-fiction series is based on girls from varying cultures. Rebecca’s story tells of being a member of a Russian Jewish family in New York City in 1914.
