Happy 100: The Sultan Library is almost as old as the city, incorporated in 1905. The library, established in 1910, is turning 100 this year, so birthday celebrations are in the works. Stop in for cake and punch between 1 and 5 p.m. April 1.

The librarians are compiling a memory book and they need your help.

Add your memories of the library to the photos already in the book, draw a picture of your favorite storybook character or write a poem.

Bring in your own old photos too, and they will be copied to be placed in the memory book.

The library is also looking for the oldest book in the community. Bring it to the library before March 25, and you may win a bookbag full of prizes and lifetime membership in the Friends of the Sultan Library.

The library is at 319 Main St., Ste. 100. Call 360-793-1695 or go online to www.sno-isle.org for more information.

Ranch romance: Camano Island author Mary Trimble will introduce her newest novel, “Tenderfoot,” at 2 p.m. Saturday at The Bookworks in Marysville.

“Tenderfoot” is a romantic suspense novel about a young woman who catches the eye of a rancher while she’s learning the ropes on a Northwest cattle ranch. It’s set against the backdrop of the 1980 eruption of Mount St. Helens.

The Bookworks is at 1510 Third St., Marysville. Call 360-659-4997 for more information about this free event. “Tenderfoot” lists at $13.50.

Dolled up: Local artist Lisa Myers Bulmash’s secret passion is creating elabortate dollhouses. She collaborated with authors Tally Oliveau and Julie Molina on their book “Mixed-Media Dollhouses: Techniques and Ideas for Doll-size Assemblages.”

Myers Bulmash and Oliveau will talk about their art and sign copies of the book from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Everett Artist’s Supply and at 2 p.m. March 21 at Barnes and Noble at Alderwood Mall.

The rooms of Bulmash’s creative dollhouses are made from cigar boxes, everything from a treehouse to a Gothic manor. The book details how the artists use recycled objects, craft store items and art supplies to create their magical miniatures.

“Mixed-Media Dollhouses” lists at $24.99.

Everett Artist’s Supply is at 9304 Evergreen Way. Call 425-353-3084 or go to www.EverettArtistsSupply.com.

Barnes and Noble is at 19401 Alderwood Mall Parkway, Lynnwood. Call
