The Everett Symphony Orchestra will perform tonight in a concert billed to invoke the elements of triumph and conquest.
The concert, “Of Emperors and Masters,” begins at 8 p.m. at Everett Civic Auditorium.
The featured works are Wagner’s “Meistersinger Overture,” Beethoven’s “Symphony No. 8,” and his “Emperor Concerto.” Pawel Skrzypek performs at the piano.
“Sisters in the Spirit”: Northwest Connection, an outreach ministry in conjunction with N-Time Music Productions and RSC Ministries, is sponsoring a tour that promises to bring some of the biggest names in gospel music to Seattle.
The show, Tuesday at the Paramount, includes 10-time Grammy award winner Shirley Caesar, evangelist Dorinda Clark-Cole, Nicole Mullen, Kelly Price, and gospel jazz artist Angie Stone.
“Seattle Symphony at the Triple Door”: A new chamber music series is being presented by the partnership of Seattle Symphony and the Triple Door, a lounge with a main stage billed as a “musicquarium.”
Each performance in the series, which kicks off Sunday, will be led by a symphony musician. Viola player Mara Gearman leads Sunday’s concert.
Seattle Symphony music director Gerard Schwarz said on the Triple Door Web site (www.thetripledoor.net) that he believes music lovers want to hear music in a more relaxed atmosphere.
