Visit while you can: If you’ve always meant to visit the garden at the former Heronswood Nursery, the botanical gem located in Kingston, you can later this month. It’s open to the public one day so mark your calendar.
The Garden Conservancy, a national organization devoted to preserving gardens, is holding a private garden tour 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 21.
The tour is self-guided and costs $5. No reservations necessary; just show up and pay at the gate.

History at the Penthouse: The first “theater in the round” in America is located on the University of Washington campus, and a discussion of the history of the historic Penthouse Theater building is set for 6:30 p.m. July 16 at NE 45th Street and 17th Ave NE.
