The Grizzled Mighty to shoot new music video in Everett

This Friday night, the Everett Music Initiative (with whom I work) is bringing Seattle band The Grizzled Mighty to rock Everett’s newest recording studio and private event space The Rec Room on Hewitt. Though this will be a full set from The Grizzled Mighty, they will also be shooting footage of the concert for the band’s upcoming video release.

Opening the show is Born of Ghosts who have built a great following from Everett to Seattle lately. Though they have been gigging pretty hard for about a year, I have only had the pleasure of seeing them perform once and I am excited to see them again.

Now, we need to talk about The Rec Room a little bit. I have been hearing about this secret Everett “hideout” for a while now but had never actually seen it and didn’t know where it was. Last night I received a tour of The Rec Room from the owner Chip Butters of Butters Sound, which is his recording studio that is run out of The Rec Room.

Walking from a sidewalk on Hewitt down the stairs into the main room I instantly felt like I was in a whole different world. It certainly didn’t feel like Everett and it isn’t like any place I have ever been. A chance to see a band like The Grizzled Mighty in an intimate setting like this doesn’t come along often and you get a chance to be in their new music video

Tomorrow night’s show will start at 9 p.m. and is for ages 21 and older. There are still some tickets left that you can purchase here for $20. Refreshments are included in the price of admission.
