Bungalow fair: Historic Seattle presents its seventh annual Bungalow and Craftsman Home Fair with a weekend of exhibits, workshops and lectures, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sept. 25 and 26 at Town Hall, 1119 Eighth Ave., Seattle.
More than 50 craftspeople in metal, tile, glass, textiles, ceramics and lighting; architects; interior designers; and antiques dealers will be at Town Hall.
The fair is an opportunity to learn about early 20th century architecture and design.
Cost is $10, $5 for Historic Seattle members. Lectures are $15, $10 for members. Bungalow Fair passes include all lectures and are $45, $25 members.
Lavender class: Edmonds Community College’s Creative Retirement Institute offers “Lavender: From Soil to Sachet” with Susan Harrington from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Oct. 2 at Snoqualmie Hall 204, 20000 68th Ave. W., Lynnwood.
Discussion includes lavender history, soil and site planning, plant selection, planting, harvesting and maintenance.

Garden workshops: The Arlington Garden Club sponsors a series of workshops for the public.
“How to Turn Your Thumb Green” series teaches fall and winter gardening tips, tricks and fundamentals. The three-part series includes a class about vegetable gardening, container gardening and winterizing. Each class is taught by a Snohomish County Master Gardener.
Workshops are held 10 to 11:30 a.m. the second Saturday of the month in the community room of the Boys and Girls Club, 18513 59th Ave. NE, Arlington.
Oct. 9: John Henninger will present a slide presentation showing how to use containers to continue your garden into the fall and winter months.
Nov. 13: The final class in the series is “Winterizing Your Garden” with Wink Cushman. Learn how to put gardens to bed for the winter and find out what to do now to save time in the spring.

Horticulture classes: The Center for Urban Horticulture, 3501 NE 41st St., Seattle, at the University of Washington presents courses, lectures and tours throughout the summer. Fees vary. To register, call 206-685-8033.
