Restoration grants: The National Trust for Historic Preservation and Home &Garden Television announce that applications for HGTV’s “Restore America: A Salute to Preservation” grants of up to $100,000 each are now available.
Six to 12 grants will be awarded for projects that include rehabilitation of single family residences, adaptive use of historic buildings for housing, creation of upper-floor apartments in Main Street communities, or restoration of Save America’s Treasures sites that continue to have residential use.
Nonprofit organizations and public agencies are invited to apply for an HGTV “Restore America” grant.
Grants must be postmarked by Nov. 30.

Poinsettia festival: Molbak’s hosts its annual Festival of Poinsettias featuring 13 new varieties of poinsettias.
The annual festival continues through Dec. 12. The free festival features 46 varieties of the winter plant. Participants can listen to festival holiday music, sample Danish pastry with coffee and have photos taken beside a 10-foot “poinsettia tree.”
Hours of the festival at 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. Molbak’s will be closed on Thanksgiving.
