Among this weekend’s best bets on television:
Saturday
“Deliverance Creek,” a new film from Nicholas Sparks, is set during the Civil War. It follows a widow and mother of three (Lauren Ambrose) who is pushed into becoming an outlaw to protect her family’s land. No word on whether there’s a kissing-in-the-rain scene. 8 p.m., Lifetime.
The first season of “Reckless” concludes. 8 p.m., CBS.
Sunday
“Countdown to Miss America,” precedes the pageant. Don’t tell us they’re asking the contestants to count. The pageant follows. 8 p.m., ABC.
We wonder if this new series, “Amish Hauntings,” raises questions about raising spirits who are raising barns? 9 p.m., Destination America.
Seth MacFarlane’s zany animated series “American Dad” launches a new season with two of its last fresh episodes on Fox. The series is set to jump to TBS in October. 9 p.m., Fox.
