Arcade Fire teamed up with Google and artist Chris Milk to create a new interactive, online experience called The Wilderness Downtown.
This new Arcade Fire project built with HTML5 and a heavy dose of Google Maps and Google Street View gives you a chance to run through streets of your childhood from a street and birds eye view while the band’s song “We Used to Wait” plays.
To try this out just go to The Wilderness Downtown website, put in the address of the house you grew up in and push play. Don’t panic when multiple windows open up on your screen showing the video. That is supposed to happen.
One important tip, this will not work properly with Internet Explorer. It is designed to run on Google Chrome but will also work with other browsers like Firefox or Safari.
