The musical “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” through Nov. 17, follows an eclectic group of middle schoolers as they fight for the title of regional spelling bee champ — and all the glory that comes with it. Edmonds Driftwood Players: Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds; www.edmondsdriftwoodplayers.org; 425-774-9600. “A Christmas Story: The Musical,” staging Nov. 29 through Dec. 22, is the musical based on the popular 1983 film. Showing Nov. 29 through Dec. 22, is the madcap Christmas comedy “Inspecting Carol.” Behind the scenes of a struggling theatre’s annual clumsy production of “A Christmas Carol,” rehearsals are at a standstill. Tim is no longer Tiny, Scrooge wants to do the play in Spanish (Feliz Navidad), and the play’s funding is on hold pending an inspection. Tickets are $25 adults, $20 seniors, students, military.
COMEDY
Comedy Garage: A weekly comedy showcase and open mic held Mondays at Tony V’s Garage, 1716 Hewitt Ave., Everett.
