Sky Performing Arts: The Monroe community theater group presents Rogers and Hammerstein’s “Oklahoma!” May 15-14 at the Wagner Performing Arts Center, 639 S. Main St., Monroe. Phoenix Theatre: The comedy theater is at 9673 Firdale Ave., Edmonds. “Female of the Species,” 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Sundays through April 30. Margot Mason, pioneer of the 1970s womens liberation movement wrote numerous best sellers. Now she has writer’s block. Molly, an unannounced visitor, offers a potential solution. That is, until Molly produces a gun and calmly proclaims that she intends to kill Margot for ruining her life.

Red Curtain: Red Curtain Arts Center, a nonprofit arts education organization, 9315 State Ave., Suite J, Marysville (in the Goodwill shopping center behind the Everett Community College cosmetology school). Ballet

“Giselle”: The Edmonds-based Olympic Ballet Theatre, under the direction of Mara Vinson and Oleg Gorboulev, presents “Giselle” at 7 p.m. April 29 at Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N. Ticket information is available at www.olympicballet.com/obthome/tickets.

“Celebrate Life”: Reflections School of Dance teams and guest artists will perform at 7:30 p.m. May 6 in the PUD auditorium, 2320 California, Everett. Tickets are $20 at the door. Performance is a benefit for Marked by Heaven for orphaned children. More at reflectionsschoolofdance.com. The school’s 20th annual dance recital is 3 p.m. June 17 at Everett Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby Ave.

Youth theater

Everett High School: Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” — with a cast of 35, a crew of 15 and an orchestra of 15 — will be performed at 7 p.m. April 21 and 2 and 7 p.m. April 22, Everett Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby Ave. General admission is $12; tickets for kids, seniors and ASB are $8. Director is teacher Sara Coiley.

Snohomish High School: “Les Miserables” will be performed May 4-14 in the school’s performance art center, 1316 Fifth St. In the meantime, students in the school’s theater club are encouraging community members to volunteer to help produce the musical. Ballyhoo Theatre: The teen group directed by Shileah Corey presents “The Spitfire Grill” May 4-7 at Phoenix Theatre, 23200 100th Ave. W., Edmonds. Shows are 7 p.m. May 4 and 5, 2 and 7 p.m. May 6, and 6 p.m. May 7. Tickets are $7 at the door. In this dramatic musical, Percy Talbot has just been released from prison and is seeking a fresh start. Tearing a page from an old travel book, she makes her way to the small town of Gilead, Wisconsin. The local sheriff, Joe Sutter, finds her a job at the Spitfire Grill, and through her healing, she helps to transform the town from one of despair to one of hope and new beginnings.

Comedy

Upfront Theatre Improv: Marsville Opera House is hosting a Comedy Show &Silent Auction to benefit the Marysville Community Food Bank May 20 at 1225 Third St. Tickets are $40 each and include appetizers and dessert. Social hour and the silent auction begin at 6 p.m., with the comedy show starting at 7:30 p.m. Call 360-658-1054 or email amy.mcfb@frontier.com for tickets.

Everett Comedy Night: Emory’s on Silver Lake, 11830 19th Ave. SE, Everett, hosts a second-Sunday monthly comedy night with Cory Michaelis. Tickets are $10.
