Everett Community College: “Ubu the King” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. June 1-3 and June 8-10 in Room 120 of EvCC’s Baker Hall, 2000 Tower St., Everett. The piece takes a satirical look at the abuse of power by the wealthy. A loose parody of “Macbeth,” the story follows a couple named Pa and Ma Ubu who gain and then lose the Polish throne in a frenzy of stupidity and treachery. Directed by Michael Schwartz, the cast includes Michael Howry, Melanie Stagner, Jacy Leavitt, Lacey Quincy, Daylin King, Joseph Duncan, Gee Neuman, Deborah Wetzel, Susan Taylor and Kelsey Fitterer. Admission is by donation.

Red Curtain: “Noises Off” performances are 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday through June 4 at the Red Curtain Arts Center, 9315 State Ave., Suite J, Marysville (in the Goodwill shopping center, behind the Everett Community College cosmetology school). The play contains adult situations and language, and is really not appropriate for children, unless you have a mature 12-year-old. Such kids get in for $5. Ticket prices are $17 for adults, $14 for seniors, students and military personnel, and are available online at brownpapertickets.com/event/2933106, at the box office from 2-6 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday or by phoning 360-322-7402. Phoenix Theatre: The comedy theater is at 9673 Firdale Ave., Edmonds. Call 206-533-2000 or go to www.phoenixtheatreedmonds.org. Susan Sandler’s “Crossing Delancey” runs June 2-25 with 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday performances. Pay-what-you-can night is 8 p.m. June 1. Cast includes Erica Bergman, Susan Connors, Dawn Cornell, Boyd Morrison and Phillip Keiman. The story involves a young New York woman who pines for a famous author, but the local matchmaker wants her to date Sam, the pickle man. Season 10 tickets are now available on the website.

Edmonds Driftwood Players: Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds; www.edmondsdriftwoodplayers.org or 425-774-9600, option 3. Next season tickets now available. Ken Ludwig’s “The Game’s Afoot,” directed by Ted Jaquith, plays June 9-25. Shows are 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $25 general, $22 senior, junior, military. ASL show June 17. In this comedy, Broadway superstar William Gillette, famous for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, has invited fellow cast members to dinner. When one guest is found dead, Gillette must summon his Sherlock skills to solve the mystery.

Youth theater

Edmonds-Woodway High School: The comedy “Museum” by Tina Howe will be presented at 7 p.m. June 8-10 and 2 p.m. June 11 in the school theater, 7600 212th St. SW. Tickets ($7 general) available 30 minutes before show time. The play, set in the 1980s, takes place on the final day of a group show of three fictional contemporary American artists being exhibited in a major museum of modern art. In the course of the day, 40 people walk through the show: art lovers, skeptics, foreigners, students, lost souls, fellow artists and, of course, museum guards. The play is about the movement and yearning of these people.

Ludus Performing Arts: Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” plays July 7-28 at the Snohomish County PUD theater in Everett, 2320 California St. For ticket information, call 425-239-6627 or go to www.ludusperformingarts.org.

Dance performances

Reflections School of Dance: The school’s 20th annual dance recital is 3 p.m. June 17 at Everett Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby Ave. More at reflectionsschoolofdance.com.
