Everett Community College: “Ubu the King” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. June 8-10 in Room 120 of EvCC’s Baker Hall, 2000 Tower St., Everett. The piece takes a satirical look at the abuse of power by the wealthy. A loose parody of “Macbeth,” the story follows a couple named Pa and Ma Ubu who gain and then lose the Polish throne in a frenzy of stupidity and treachery. Directed by Michael Schwartz, the cast includes Michael Howry, Melanie Stagner, Jacy Leavitt, Lacey Quincy, Daylin King, Joseph Duncan, Gee Neuman, Deborah Wetzel, Susan Taylor and Kelsey Fitterer. Admission is by donation.

Ken Ludwig’s “The Game’s Afoot,” directed by Ted Jaquith, plays June 9-25. Shows are 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $25 general, $22 senior, junior, military. ASL show June 17. In this comedy, Broadway superstar William Gillette, famous for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, has invited fellow cast members to dinner. When one guest is found dead, Gillette must summon his Sherlock skills to solve the mystery.

Susan Sandler’s “Crossing Delancey” runs through June 25 with 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday performances. Cast includes Erica Bergman, Cindy Giese French, Dawn Cornell, Boyd Morrison and Phillip Keiman. The story involves a young New York woman who pines for a famous author, but the local matchmaker wants her to date Sam, the pickle man. Season 10 tickets are now available on the website.

Woodinville Repertory Theatre: The classic comedy “Butterflies are Free” is to be presented June 9-July 9 at Denali Slab &Tile Studio, 16120 Woodinville-Redmond Road NE, Suite 12, Woodinville. For show times and ticket prices, go to www.woodinvillerep.org/tickets.

Red Curtain: The Red Curtain Arts Center, 9315 State Ave., Suite J, Marysville (in the Goodwill shopping center, behind the Everett Community College cosmetology school). Dance recitals

Mountlake Terrace Dance Academy: “20th Century Music” is the title of the academy’s recital at 11 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. June 10 at Mountlake Terrace High School’s theater, 21801 44th Ave. W. See the Charleston and then travel through history to current popular dances. Includes ballet, tap, jazz, swing, flamenco and hip-hop. Tickets are $12, available at the door an hour before the show or through brownpapertickets.com.

Washington School of Dance: The school’s recital will be performed June 16-18 at Edmonds Center for the Arts, 410 Fourth Ave. N. Call 425-275-9595. Jazz, tap, ballet and more, with a cast of students ages 3 to adult.

Camano Dance Academy: The recital — “The 7 Wonders of the World” — will be performed at 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. June 17 at Byrnes Performing Arts Center, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd., Arlington. Tickets at brownpapertickets.com. The story follows two daring dancers on a journey through Italy, Jordan, India, Brazil.

Reflections School of Dance: The school’s 20th annual dance recital is 3 p.m. June 17 at Everett Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby Ave. More at reflectionsschoolofdance.com.

Alderwood Dance Spectrum: The school’s 36th annual dance recital is 7:30 p.m. June 23-24 at Everett Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby Ave. Tickets are $10, available at the door. More at www.alderwooddancespectrum.com.

The Dance School: The Everett school performs its year-end dances at 2 and 7 p.m. June 24 at the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave. Ticket information at www.tututix.com/client/thedanceschoolwa.

Youth theater

Edmonds-Woodway High School: The comedy “Museum” by Tina Howe will be presented at 7 p.m. June 8-10 and 2 p.m. June 11 in the school theater, 7600 212th St. SW. Tickets ($7 general) available 30 minutes before show time. The play, set in the 1980s, takes place on the final day of a group show of three fictional contemporary American artists being exhibited in a major museum of modern art. In the course of the day, 40 people walk through the show: art lovers, skeptics, foreigners, students, lost souls, fellow artists and, of course, museum guards. The play is about the movement and yearning of these people.
