Theater

Audition: The Historic Everett Theatre is staging a community theater production of Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple” during September and October. A male version and and a female version are planned. Auditions are 11 a.m. June 24 at the theater, 2911 Colby Ave., Everett. Roles are available for six women and seven men. To reserve an audition spot, email management@historiceveretttheatre.com. Rehearsals begin July 9.

Edmonds Driftwood Players: Wade James Theatre, 950 Main St., Edmonds; www.edmondsdriftwoodplayers.org or 425-774-9600, option 3. Next season tickets now available. Ken Ludwig’s “The Game’s Afoot,” directed by Ted Jaquith, plays through June 25. Shows are 8 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. Tickets are $25 general, $22 senior, junior, military. In this comedy, Broadway superstar William Gillette, famous for his portrayal of Sherlock Holmes, has invited fellow cast members to dinner. When one guest is found dead, Gillette must summon his Sherlock skills to solve the mystery. Driftwood’s annual Festival of Shorts is 8 p.m. July 7-8 and 2 p.m. July 8-9. Call for tickets. Eight short plays will be performed. Playwrights are from across the country. The audience helps decide the top play of the festival.

Phoenix Theatre: The comedy theater is at 9673 Firdale Ave., Edmonds. Call 206-533-2000 or go to www.phoenixtheatreedmonds.org. Susan Sandler’s “Crossing Delancey” runs through June 25 with 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday performances. Cast includes Erica Bergman, Cindy Giese French, Dawn Cornell, Boyd Morrison and Phillip Keiman. The story involves a young New York woman who pines for a famous author, but the local matchmaker wants her to date Sam, the pickle man. Season 10 tickets are now available on the website.

Woodinville Repertory Theatre: The classic comedy “Butterflies are Free” is presented through July 9 at Denali Slab & Tile Studio, 16120 Woodinville-Redmond Road NE, Suite 12, Woodinville. For show times and ticket prices, go to www.woodinvillerep.org/tickets.

Red Curtain: The Red Curtain Arts Center, 9315 State Ave., Suite J, Marysville (in the Goodwill shopping center, behind the Everett Community College cosmetology school). Auditions for “The Fantasticks” begin at 6 p.m. July 11.

“Last Romance”: Phoenix Theatre, Tim Noah’s Thumbnail Theater and the Snohomish Theater Project offer this comedy by Joe Pietro at 7:30 p.m. July 15 and 22, and at 4 p.m. July 16 and 23. Directed by Eric Lewis, the cast includes Michael McFadden, Susan Connors, Griffin Price, Melanie Calderwood and Sadie Calderwood. The story involves Ralph, a widower, whose daily walk leads him to a second chance at love. Tickets are $15 at the door, Thumbnail Theater, 1211 Fourth St., Snohomish, or at wwwbrownpapertickets.com.

Youth theater

“The Wind in the Willows”: Red Curtain’s acting class students will perform this musical at 7 p.m. June 23 and 1 and 4 p.m. June 24 at the Red Curtain Arts Center, 9315 State Ave., Suite J, Marysville (in the Goodwill shopping center, behind the Everett Community College cosmetology school).
