For just two shows only, Driftwood Players will present “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” Missoula Children’s Theatre’s original adaptation of the classic fairy tale.
Shows are tonight and Saturday in Edmonds.
There are some twists in this show that opens with our lovely Snow White finding herself in a bit of a trouble because her stepmother’s Magic Mirror has just divulged that Snow White is fairer than her. Go figure.
With her henchmen and a band of evil bats, the Queen plots to rid the world of Snow White. The princess, however, escapes with help from Witless the Woodsman and finds herself seeking refuge with the Seven Dwarfs.
She can run but she can’t hide from the Queen, who finds Snow White and attempts to poison her. The plan is foiled when the Forest Friends, King Backwards, the Dwarfs and the Prince come to her rescue.
The gist of this Snow White is family fun: comic and upbeat and starring children from the Edmonds community.
“Gezellig”: “Gezellig” is a Dutch word that describes the kind of warm and fuzzy feeling we get when we are with our friends.
A special Driftwood Players event on Sunday, this “Gezellig” was created by a team of teenagers who came together as friends because of their involvement in Driftwood. It’s an evening of song and entertainment packed with old standards and new favorites.
