Today’s pop culture comparison begins with a music video by the performer Ke$ha, who, we are left to surmise, was born at a hospital where the “s” key was sticking when they filled out her birth certificate.
Ke$ha is telling us about her night on the town and makes a plug for good hygiene by starting and ending the video in a bathtub.
Let’s watch:

Now we come to the Matt Groeing-created “The Simpsons” animated show and an opening credit montage featuring little Lisa Simpson and the rest of the Simpsons cast singing “Tik Tok” as they move through the day and its ultimate conclusion on the family couch. This version has the advantage of being more than two minutes shorter than the original.

Finally, we come to the ultimate clash of pop cultures, wherein scenes from the original ‘Star Trek,” a series that ran on an ancient communication medium called broadcast television, are played against the Ke$ha song, prompting those over 40 to make attempts at humor to others of their generation, such as “Set phasers on Par-Tay!.”

What are we to conclude from this comparison? Only that some people really ought to find some regular work.
And now, having wasted time watching these three videos, don’t you have something better to do?
