Timbrrr! lineup announcement today

On Tuesday Nov. 3, the Timbrrr! Winter Music Festival lineup will be announced. Every time one of my favorite local music festivals reveals their lineup I get excited. It’s like Christmas! But in the case of Timbrrr! Winter Music Festival, Timber Outdoor Music Festival and the Doe Bay Music Festival (all run by Artist Home Booking) the lineup really doesn’t matter.

Every year when Artist Home announces their festival lineups I comb through the list of bands, 70 percent clueless and ask myself “who are these guys and where are they from?” and often times they are from right here in the Pacific Northwest. As somebody who prides himself on knowing the local music scene, this process dings my ego a little bit.

Once I start diving into the bands I’m unfamiliar with I always find a handful of new favorites. After all the very first Timbrrr! Winter Music Festival in Leavenworth was my first exposure to Cataldo and Wild Ones who have both become two of my favorite bands and I don’t just mean in the region.

With big festivals like Sasquatch or Bumbershoot I always make a wish/prediction list of bands I hope are on the lineup. I can’t do that with Timbrrr. I just sit back and get ready to absorb whatever they throw at me because I know I never could have guessed it and it is sure to be full of stuff we are all going to love.

And if the promise of discovering your new favorite band isn’t enough, I’ve got three words for you:

HOT. TODDY. GARDEN.
