Tony Bennett, Jane’s Addiction lead Bumbershoot lineup

The 2012 Bumbershoot lineup was announced yesterday and it is a little all over the place. The lineup has sparked a lot of discussion just in last 24 hours. Maybe because the headliners are Jane’s Addiction, Skrillex and Tony Bennett.

Tony Bennett?!

Some people don’t understand how he is headlining in front of rising hip hop star Mac Miller and other people don’t seem to see how Tony Bennett fits into the lineup at all. I think it’s awesome. The man is a legend and whether you have enjoyed Tony Bennett for years or can’t name one of his songs I think seeing him live is one of those things you shouldn’t pass up.

As always the Bumbershoot lineup boasts a healthy amount of local talent and this year is no different. The list of local artists includes Damien Jurado, Mudhoney, THEESatisfaction, Barcelona, Hey Marseilles, Reign Wolf, Don’t Talk To The Cops, Bryan John Appleby and others.

I haven’t been this excited about a Bumbershoot lineup in several years. I’m a firm believer that a music festival should have a little bit of something for everyone. This year’s Bumbershoot Music and Arts Festival certainly has that.

The Bumbershoot folks did a pretty great job on the announcement video. Watch it below to see the rest of the lineup.
