The Comcast Community Ice Rink will be opened Tuesday to a group other than the Everett Silvertips.
While some of the people on the ice may be suited up as hockey players, on this night it will be children roaming the floor as they participate in the Everett Event Center’s first-ever “Frozen Fright Night.”
The center hosts the indoor Halloween party, complete with general ice skating time, gourd puck shot and pumpkin curling events, a costume contest and face painting. DJ’d music, inflatable toys and fortune tellers will round out the evening’s entertainment.
All children will receive a goody bag of Halloween treats, without having to brave the unpredictable autumn weather that accompanies traditional outdoor trick-or-treating. A buffet will provide refreshments for children and their parents.
The “fright” contribution to the evening really is more for decoration than for fear, as there will be too-silly-to-be-scary Halloween decorations and “smoke” in the form of dry ice fog.
Tickets to the event include candy bag, buffet and skate rental, although skate rentals will be based on availability.
