Three area musicians – all classically trained but with resumes that include everything from playing in symphony orchestras to pit bands for musical theater – have formed a musical partnership named Trio non Frio.
The ensemble – Terry Mason, violin; Cheryl Lindley, cello; and David Spring, piano – get together for some serious music in a Port Gardner Bay Chamber Music Concert Sunday in Everett.
The concert includes Handel’s Entrance of the Queen of Sheba from “Solomon” and Mendelssohn’s Trio No. 1 in D Minor.
“The Mendelssohn is my favorite piano piece to perform,” said Lindley, a frequent guest soloist with various musical groups and a regular with the Everett Symphony.
Also on the program are Julius Klengel’s Andante from Kindertrio in G Major and “Tango” by Issac Albeniz.
The three performers have known each other for years, Lindley said, and hatched the idea of forming a trio while playing together in the Northwest Savoyard’s spring production of “Fiddler on the Roof.”
Sunday’s concert is at 3 p.m. at the Hartley Mansion, 2320 Rucker Ave., Everett. Tickets are $8-$10 and can be reserved by calling 425-353-7311 and will be sold at the door.
