Like beer? Like being outdoors? Then you should check out a tapping event Oct. 23 at Naked City Brewing in Seattle.
Nine new beers, all inspired by hikes around the Pacific Northwest will be released. It’s all part of an effort called Beers Made by Walking, which brings brewers on natures hikes and then encourages them to make a beer inspired by the plants on the trail.
“Each hike is unique and each beer that is produced is a drinkable landscape portrait of the trail we hiked,” according to a Beers Made By Walking press release.
The local hikes are a collaboration with Friends of the Cedar River Watershed, and a majority of proceeds from the event will go to support that group.
Participating brewers and cider-makers that joined in on the hikes include: Big Al Brewing, Brickyard, Epic Ales, Fremont, Hi-Fi, Naked City, and Schilling Cider. Hikes took place at Seward Park, Discovery Park, and Cougar Mountain.
Each brewery/cidery will serve their new brew. Additionally, two Oregon breweries will tap beers based off hikes in Oregon.

The event is from 6-9 p.m. Oct. 23 at Naked City Brewery, 8564 Greenwood Ave., Seattle. Cost is per sample or pint.
