The Watson Twins released on Tuesday their sophomore album, “Talking to You, Talking to Me.”
TRIVIA: The group is made up of Chandra and Leigh Watson, identical twins from Louisville, Ky.
STANDOUTS: The sunny “Savin’ You” brings in a horn line for a giant smile of a chorus.
FANS DIG: Matching outfits
ANDY SAYS: The Watson Twins channel some unexpected inspirations on their new album. Lead track “Modern Man” feels indebted to Radiohead with its sharp snare beat, while the dreamy “Harpeth River” recalls Portishead. Art-house influences don’t wash away the group’s approachable Americana sound, however, which is fuller and more accomplished here than on past efforts.
