Two events for fans of young adult literature

Fans of magical, mystical novels may like to meet Laini Taylor, author of “Daughter of Smoke and Bone.”

Taylor will be at the University Book Store at Mill Creek at 7 p.m. Thursday to talk about her latest novel, which could be the next “Harry Potter,” according to a Los Angeles Times Review.

“Daughter of Smoke and Bone,” which is aimed at teen readers and adults alike, tells the story of a 17-year-old art student in Prague, who leads a double life — one that sweeps her away to an ancient world of magic and mystery and wars between demons and angels.

Autographed copies of the book will be available after the event for $15.19.

The University Book Store is at 15311 Main St., Mill Creek. Call 425-385-3530 or go to www.bookstore.washington.edu for other author events.

Young adult readers can catch four of their favorites at the Pen Fatale Tour this week. The foursome will be talking about their books at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Third Place Books and at 7 p.m. Thursday at Barnes & Noble in Lynnwood.

Alyson Noel (“Dreamland”), Mary E. Pearson (“The Fox Inheritance”), Jessica Brody (“My Life Undecided”) and Gabrielle Zevin (“All These Things I’ve Done”) will discuss their novels and sign books at this event.

Third Place Books is at 17171 Bothell Way NE, Lake Forest Park. Call or check the website, www.thirdplacebooks.com.

Barnes & Noble is at 19401 Alderwood Mall Parkway, Lynnwood. Call 425-771-2220 for more information or see their website www.barnesandnoble.com/.
