Bird lovers can flock to two new art shows opening this weekend.
The Fourth Annual Camano Island Bird Art Exhibition runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at Four Springs Preserve, 585 Lewis Lane, Camano Island.
A reception and wine tasting is planned from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Other events at Four Springs during the Port Susan Snow Goose &Birding Festival include a variety of children’s arts and crafts activities along with a family barbecue on Saturday.
The bird art exhibition will display works from 33 artists in the genres of paintings, photographs, ceramics, glass, fiber art and sculpture, many with the images of birds.
In years past, the show was private and included artists from the Camano Arts Association and the Stanwood Camano Artists Guild. This is the first year the exhibition is open to the general public.
The Stanwood House Gallery, 9915 270th St. NW, Stanwood, is also presenting its third annual show for the Snow Goose Festival.
“Snow Goose Leftovers (and new work)” opens with a reception from 4 to 8 tonight. The gallery will be open through the Snow Goose Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
