Rocktoberfest: Marysville Rock and Gem Club’s free 43rd annual Rocktoberfest is 10 to 5 p.m. Oct. 7-8, Totem Middle School, 1605 Seventh St., Marysville.

Skagit Valley Festival of Family Farms: Take a ride up to Skagit County for the festival, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 7-8. See www.festivaloffamilyfarms.com/farm-map. A good place to start is the Hedlin Family Farm in La Conner, 12052 Chilberg Road.

Snohomish Valley Festival of Pumpkins: Through Oct. 31 at Bailey’s, Bob’s, Carleton’s, Craven’s, Stocker’s, Swan’s Trail and Thomas Family farms. More at www.festivalofpumpkins.org.

Arlington Viking Fest: The Arlington area was once home to a large Scandinavian settlement, so it is fitting that a Viking festival will be celebrated there Oct. 7-8 on Olympic Avenue downtown. Skill and strength competitions and demonstrations are planned, along with a Viking wedding and a feast hall. More about the activities and the schedule is at www.arlingtonvikingfest.com.

Biringer’s Black Crow Pumpkins and Corn Maze: 2431 Highway 530 NE, Arlington; 360-435-5616, www.facebook.com/biringers.black.crow. Through Oct. 31, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Maze, kiddie slide, skeleton graveyard. Dog costume contest 2 p.m. Oct. 22.

Camano Island Pumpkin Project: 1 p.m. Oct. 14, Kristoferson Farm, 332 N. East Camano Drive. Fun-filled fall festival featuring pumpkins, music, arts and crafts, education, catapult, food and drink. Free for kids under 5 accompanied by an adult. General admission is $8, with discounts for groups at camanopumpkinproject.bpt.me.

Camano Harvest Festival at Cama Beach State Park: 11 to 3 p.m Oct. 21. Free, but parking pass required. Lots of activities for children and parents. Call 360-913-0253.

Foster’s Corn Maze and Pumpkin Patch: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily through Oct. 31 at 5818 Highway 530, Arlington. Apple cannon, pumpkin slingshot and cow train on weekends only. More at www.fosterscornmaze.com.

Northwest Stream Center: Presentation on the San Juan Islands’ resident killer whales, 1 p.m. Oct. 7, at the center, 600 128th St. SE in McCollum County Park, Everett. More at www.streamkeeper.org. A program on bats is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 13.

Imagine Children’s Museum: Located at 1502 Wall St., Everett. Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. (The museum is closed Sept. 3-8.) Each third Friday of the month are free admission nights. Play indoors from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at no cost. More at imaginecm.org or 425-258-1006. Outback Kangaroo Farm: 10030 Highway 530, east of Arlington. Take a tour of the farm to see kangaroos, alpacas, flying squirrels, peacocks, wallaroos and more.

Vibrant Beauty: Colors of Our Collection is displayed. The exhibit allows visitors to explore how color has influenced Coast Salish people and how it is used today.

Paine Field: The Snohomish County Airport is home to several aviation attractions, including the Flying Heritage &Combat Armor Museum, Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour, Historic Flight Foundation and the Museum of Flight Restoration Center. Museum of Pop Culture: The museum (formerly EMP) at the Seattle Center, 325 Fifth Ave. N., has current exhibits about science fiction and fantasy, Jimi Hendrix, Nirvana, Star Trek, indie games, the Seattle Seahawks, horror films and more. Museum of History &Industry: Located at 860 Terry Ave., at the south end of Lake Union, Seattle. The It’s Raining Cats and Dogs exhibit, which runs through May 31, takes a closer look at the history of Puget Sound through the stories of cats and dogs. Guaranteed fun for animal lovers. Burke Museum: The museum is at the corner of NE 45th Street and 17th Avenue NE in Seattle. Great exhibits about natural history and culture. More at www.burkemuseum.org.

Pacific Science Center: The center, at 200 Second Ave. N., Seattle, is the national pilot location for a new mobile adventure game called “Tomorrow Corps” from Artifact Technologies. Play the game for free. More information is at www.pacificsciencecenter.org. Or call 800-664-8775.

Woodland Park Zoo: See Lulu, the zoo’s baby giraffe, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. daily at the giraffe barn. The zoo is at 5500 Phinney Ave. N. More at www.zoo.org.

Seattle Aquarium: Aquarium Halloween is Oct. 28-29 at the aquarium, 1483 Alaskan Way. Put on your costume and join the staff for creepy games and activities, face painting, treats and two kinds of pumpkin carving demonstrations — on land and underwater.
