HOLIDAY JOY

The Lights of Christmas: Open 5 to 10 p.m. Dec. 21-23, 26-30 at Warm Beach Camp, 20800 Marine Drive, Stanwood. More than 1 million Christmas lights, dazzling displays, live music, theater, pony rides, food, Santa, Bruce the Spruce and more. Woodland Park Zoo: 5500 Phinney Ave. N. More at www.zoo.org. The zoo’s WildLights are on from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. daily through Jan. 1, except for Dec. 24-25. Admission is $9.95 for teens and adults, $7.95 for children and free for toddlers. Enter through west entrance on Phinney Avenue N. Parking $6.

Winterfest: Cama Beach State Park has activities throughout December such as guided hikes, starlight low tide beach walks, music and zombies at the park, 1880 SW Camano Drive, Camano Island. Activities take place at various times on Dec. 23, 30 and 31. A Discover Pass is required for day-use visits to the park. More at www.camabeachfoundation.org/winterfest.html.

Seattle Aquarium: See Santa dive in the 120,000-gallon tank at the aquarium, 1483 Alaskan Way, at noon and 3 p.m. Dec. 23 and noon on Dec. 24. Bring your camera to get a picture with Santa while staying dry. For a schedule of activities, go to www.seattleaquarium.org.

Washington Council of the Blind’s Santa Show: The annual comical variety show is 4:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. Dec. 26 at Edmonds Center for the Arts, 401 S. Fourth St. The children’s benefit features clowns, jugglers, illusionists and an appearance by Santa himself. Each show is 90 minutes. Washington Council of the Blind partners with ATS Northwest to put on this free show for kids and their families in need during the holidays. No family will be turned away. Magic show: Magician Jeff Evans presents his Holiday Magic show, 11 a.m. to noon Dec. 30 at the Lake Stevens Library, 1804 Main St., and 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. Dec. 30 at the Marysville Library, 6120 Grove St. Features a trained reindeer that does card tricks and a drawing of Santa that comes to life. Robot Garage: Use robotics kits to build an extraterrestrial rover with Museum of Flight staff, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Mariner Library, 520 128th St. SW. Ages 5-14. Registration required. Call 425-423-9017.

Pizza and books: Teens are invited to bring a favorite book for show-and-tell and enjoy some pizza, 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 28 at the Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave., Everett. For ages 12-17. Registration required. Call 425-257-8030.

Kids in the Snow: A 90-minute outing that jump starts participants on their way to earn a Junior Snow Ranger badge at Snoqualmie Pass, 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturdays, Jan. 20 through March 24. Identify tracks, learn about exploring nature in winter, and climb into an igloo (snowpack permitting). Discover which animals live nearby that turn white in winter, sleep the winter away, burrow and live entirely under the snow and those that can freeze themselves nearly solid right through until the spring melt. Kid-sized snowshoes are available for this walk. Suggested donation of $15 for adults and $10 for youth 16 and under. Call 425-434-6111.

Imagine Children’s Museum: Located at 1502 Wall St., Everett. Open 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Dec. 24. Closed Christmas Day. Open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 31, with special 7 to 9 p.m. pajama party and New Year’s Eve Ball Drop. Closed Jan. 1. Regular hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays. Each third Friday of the month are free admission nights. Museum of History & Industry: Located at 860 Terry Ave., at the south end of Lake Union, Seattle. The It’s Raining Cats and Dogs exhibit, which runs through May 31, takes a closer look at the history of Puget Sound through the stories of cats and dogs. Guaranteed fun for animal lovers.
