Homeowners Janna and Jackson Chao, who were featured in a March 17 Home &Garden story about their solar-powered beach home on Whidbey Island, will be getting more payback from Puget Sound Energy.
In the story, Janna Chao said she didn’t see the benefits of solar power in her monthly bill.
PSE examined the situation, and found the family wasn’t being reimbursed at market rates for the power their solar panels produced, which is the current practice for customers who use net metering.
A PSE spokeswoman said the family would be reimbursed for the billing error and would be receiving credit for solar energy at market rates from now on.
