Bruce Springsteen apparently lives on the road.
After an extensive list of shows in 2007 and 2008, the guy has tour dates planned through August this year.
Unfortunately, many of those shows are in Europe and none are for Seattle.
So, for now, fans will have to settle for live clips like this one.
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band – “London Calling” – Live
I haven’t emailed this clark3135@hotmail.com person, so I can’t say for sure why this live video from an April show in Philadelphia is so excellent. The Boss and Steve Van Zandt offer an energetic and generally faithful take on the classic Clash track, which apparently came at the end of their set.
St. Vincent – Actor Out of Work – Video
St. Vincent’s second disc, “Actor” is starting to look like an early front-runner for album of the year. The odd clip finds the singer auditioning a bunch of actors, who are apparently told they need to cry. It’s a bit unsettling, but then, that’s the type of thing St. Vincent enjoys: unsettling the settled.
The National – “So Far Around the Bend” – Live on “Late Night”
Matt Berninger’s vocals during this performance for Jimmy Fallon’s show are unfortunately faint. It’s a shame, because the band was able to pull together a string section for the performance. Ah well, this is still a terrific song, probably one of my favorites of the year. It’s on “Dark Was the Night,” a benefit compilation, and you should go download the track right now. Go.
