Expose your child to the beautiful sounds of music, the poignant tale of an orphan child or the wild world of a wolverine.
Village Theatre KidStage is now accepting enrollment in its full-day and half-day summer camps for ages 4 to 18.
Options for musical theater camps include “The Sound of Music,” “Annie” and “Rydell High.”
Acting exploration camps offer “Marvelous Monsters and Mermaids,” “TheatreSports — Improvisation Games” and “Wolverine and the X-Men.”
A complete summer camp listing can be found online at www.villagetheatre.org/ kidstage.shtml.
Weekly camps begin in mid-June and run through mid-August. Camps range from $140 to $260 and parents can receive a 10 percent discount when registering more than one student from the same family or when registering for more than one class. Scholarships are available for those who qualify.
Each registered student will also receive one half-price single ticket to Village Theatre’s production of “Show Boat,” which opens in July. Registration forms are available online at www.villagetheatre.org.
Involvement in KidStage is not only fun, it gives kids a competitive edge in school and as they enter the work force, said Kati Nickerson, director of youth education for Village Theatre.
“Young people with theater experience develop great self-confidence,” Nickerson said, “as well as the strong skills in communication and teamwork that enhance applications for colleges, scholarships and employers.”
