Edmonds Community College Art Gallery: 20000 68th Ave. W, Lynnwood. “Therapy of Hope,” paintings by Max Lyonga, who depicts themes of contemporary life in southwest Cameroon. Through June 10.

Edmonds Library: 650 Main St., Edmonds; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays and 1 to 5 p.m. Sundays. In recognition of Washington State Arts Education Month, an exhibit of paintings by teaching artist Meredith Essex, a Northwest artist who belongs to an extended family of artists, are on view now through June 20.

Edmonds Museum: 118 Fifth Ave. N., Edmonds; 425-774-0900. 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays. The grand opening of a new train room from 1 to 4 p.m. June 4. including food, drinks, a raffle, the train’s inaugural trip around the track, and an opportunity to invest in railroad stock. Visitors can purchase buildings, vehicles, people, trees, and other parts of the layout for varying prices, and in return will receive a certificate of title and their name listed on a plaque in the room. The model train was created by local businessman Donald Drew. The model train layout and accompanying exhibit is on permanent display downstairs.

Everett Community College: The Russell Day Gallery, 2000 Tower St.; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 4 to 6 p.m. Thursdays and 10 a.m. to noon on Fridays. Artwork by more than 25 EvCC students will be on display in “Last Call” through June 10.
