Seattle native and prolific piano performer Walt Wagner, who has appeared with Bob Hope, George Burns, Lily Tomlin, Roberta Flack, Sammy Davis Jr. and Bob Newhart, and as a pianist and conductor with Peggy Lee, will perform this weekend on Whidbey Island.
Wagner will present “An Evening With
Walt Wagner” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Whidbey Island Center for the Arts, 565 Camano Ave., Langley.
Wagner began his musical career playing rock music but his increasing interest in jazz led him to more playing and composing in that genre, including his gigs as a featured performer for the last two years at the Lionel Hampton Jazz Festival.
Wagner composes most of what he plays during his concert and club appearances, and is doing more classical composing as well, according to his biography.
Tickets to the event are $30 for premium seats and $20 for standard seats. Go to www.wicaonline.com or go to http://tinyurl.com/47bstsl.
