Share a little yuletide, a little cocoa and some Christmas caroling during Everett’s new holiday celebration, “Wintertide,” every Monday from now ‘til Christmas.
This free event provides a time for family, friends and neighbors to gather around a roaring bonfire holding a hot cup of cocoa and nibbling cookies, while standing in the bright glow from the lights of a giant Christmas tree.
It’s like bringing some of that old-world village spirit to downtown Everett.
And when the kids aren’t singing carols outside, they can go indoors to create holiday craft projects or enjoy operating one of three model trains.
The free Wintertide celebration is 5 to 7 p.m. on Mondays at the parking lot adjacent to the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave., Everett.
This Monday, there’s an additional free event when the city shows the movie “A Christmas Story” at 7 p.m. inside the theater. The movie tells the story of young Ralphie who has to convince his parents, teachers and Santa that a Red Ryder BB gun really is the perfect gift for him. The movie is rated PG and is one hour, 38 minutes long.
