If you go out on the water or walk the beaches in the next month or so, keep your eye open for gray whales on their annual northern migration.
You can’t miss them. Adults are 45 to 50 feet in length, weighing 30 to 40 tons.
They feed in waters near Everett, Whidbey Island and Camano Island on their way from Mexico to Alaska.
Anacortes-based Island Adventures offers whale-watching tours at 11 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays from the Everett Marina aboard the Island Explorer 3.
Tours will continue weekends through March and daily April 3 to May 7.
Prices are $59 for adults; $49 for children ages 3 to 12; $54 for seniors over 65, military members, AAA members and students with ID. Children 2 and under are free.
Make reservations by calling 800-465-4604 or going to www.island-adventures.com/ reservations.html.
