Feeling homebound because gas prices are higher than Mount Everest? Wherever you roam you can score low prices through Gasbuddy.com and FreeMobileFuelFinder.com.
What’s hot: Type in a ZIP Code or town and state at Gasbuddy and you’ll get a roster of places for fueling up, with prices listed from low to high. FreeMobileFuelFinder.com will send text messages to you if you register your e-mail and your cell number. To participate, call a toll-free phone number and type in a ZIP Code. Within a minute, you’ll get a text message listing stations.
What’s not: At Gasbuddy, the information and locations are only as accurate and current as the members who post them. I tried a ZIP Code in suburban Los Angeles and got no hits. But I did find some stations there through FreeMobileFuelFinder.com.
