Weekend best bets: Kidstock, eagles, chocolate and more

For the kids: Kidstock is 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Edmonds Center for the Arts. Kidstock has bands, theater performances, arts education and workshops. Attractions include bouncy houses set up in the gym and the Seattle Shakespeare Company’s costume photo booth. Best of all, it’s free. Get more info in our story here.

See the eagles: The Stillaguamish Eagle Festival is Friday and Saturday in Arlington and Saturday in Darrington. Arlington highlights include bird-watching tours, chainsaw carving, paddle rafting, horse drawn wagon rides, music, tractor show, animal show and “Salmon Wheel of Fortune.” The Darrington festival has eagle viewing at Squire Creek Park, horseback rides, Old Fortson Mill tours, Native American flute music, art show, quilt show, poetry reading and a scavenger hunt. For more information, visit arlingtonwa.gov or www.darringtonwatourism.com.

Delicious: A chocolate tasting tour is from 2 to 6 p.m. on Saturday at Country Village in Bothell. You can wander through shops, tasting and buying chocolate for four hours. Get the details here.

Preschools: Check out options for your kids’ early education. A free preschool preview and early education expo is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the conference center at Xfinity Arena in Everett. Speakers will discuss early childhood education and you can check out local schools. Get more info here.

R&B: R. Kelly’s personal life has been controversial almost as long as he’s been a star. Now he’s on tour, bringing his silken, sometimes R-rated songs — and all their attendant controversy — on the road. He’ll play Xfinity Arena 7 p.m. Saturday. Get more info and check out other upcoming shows in our story here.

Guided walk: Friends of Camano Island Parks offer a guided walk at 9:50 a.m. Saturday at the Camano Ridge Forest Preserve. The trail is 3.3 miles round trip, with about 200 feet of elevation gain at the beginning. The hike is about two hours and takes place rain or shine. Wear appropriate clothes and sturdy shoes or boots. No dogs. Meet at 9:50 a.m. at the Camano Multipurpose Center (blue building), 141 N East Camano Drive. Trail booklets and maps will be available at the walk for a suggested $1 donation.

Please touch: A new art exhibit at Edmonds Community College is hands-on. Indeed, all of the art in a new exhibit, “Please Touch,” at Edmonds Community College’s art gallery should be touched, artist Jim Ballard said. The show includes wall panels of paper embossments illustrating star constellations, the profiles of birds, snowflake shapes and various surface textures of lakes and oceans. There are also stone and bronze sculptures. Get more info in our story here.

Mozart: The Everett Philharmonic Orchestra will perform a matinee show of Mozart’s works on Sunday. “The genius of Mozart is unsurpassed,” said Paul-Elliott Cobbs. Hear it for yourself at 3 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church, 2936 Rockefeller Ave., Everett. Tickets are $20-$25. Get more info in our story here.

Arty: a number of interesting art exhibits are this weekend, including photography, multi-media art and textiles arts. Take a look at what’s planned in our roundup here.
