Weekend fun: Hockey, music, giant whales and more

Hockey: Catch the Silvertips at home at 7:35 on Friday and 7:05 on Saturday at Xfinity Arena. Saturday is MovemberFest, an effort to promote men’s cancer and mental health initiatives. Get more info and tickets here.

Sea sounds: The duo Pint &Dale will perform at 2 p.m. Sunday at Everett Public Library, 2702 Hoyt Ave. William Pint and Felicia Dale bring a blend of traditional and modern music reflecting the vitality of people who live and work on the sea. Pint &Dale perform with vocals, guitar, octave mandolin, Irish penny whistles, percussion and the vielle-à-roue or hurdy gurdy.

Say dog biscuit: Get photos of your pets with Santa from 10 a.m. to noon and 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at Skagit Farmers Supply Country Store, 8815 272nd St. NW, Stanwood. Cost is $20 for CD with four different pictures. Proceeds benefit Camano Animal Shelter Association.

For readers: Hear local authors speak at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Mukilteo Library, 4675 Harbour Pointe Blvd. Greg Bear, Holly Cupala, Mindy Hardwick, Roy Kindelberger, Craig Orback, Bernadette Pajer, Dan Richards and Trudi Trueit will be at the event. Books will be available for signing and purchase.

British Invasion: Tim Noah Thumbnail in Theater in Snohomish offers a tribute to the music of the mid-1960s. You’ll hear classics by The Beatles, The Stones, The Animals, Marianne Faithful, The Kinks and more. Get tickets and more info here.

For kids: Magician and comedian Louie Foxx will present a show for kids at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Everett Public Library’s Evergreen branch, 9512 Evergreen Way.

Waste not: Check out a 32-foot gray whale made out of recycled plastic bags at Imagine Children’s Museum in Everett. Museum visitors can make their own sea creatures out of plastic bags. Kids can get a behind-the-scenes look at how recycling works and try their hand at working with the conveyor belt. The event is from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday. Get more info here.
