So in a fine little twist, Dr. Pepper’s attempt to give free Dr. Pepper to everyone upon the release of “Chinese Democracy” did not, itself, go smoothly.

Now, granted, I don’t know this for a fact. I forgot to get my coupon for a can in the (lame) 24 hour window they were available. And hey, if you’ve seen any good articles yourself, toss a link with a short explanation into the comments section below.

Word:

  • Dr. Pepper’s attempt to tie into the release of Guns ‘N Roses release of “Chinese Democracy” resulted in a fiasco.
  • Asked by Rolling Stone what he hopes to achieve on Oasis’ upcoming U.S. tour, Noel Gallagher says “five million dollars.”
  • Speaking of Rolling Stone, the magazine has a rumor-busting interview with video director Spike Jonze about his upcoming adaptation of “Where the Wild Things Are,” co-written by Dave Eggers.
  • Bono is writing songs for Tom Jones, which would be awesome if Bono still wrote good songs, but whatev, I’m just glad Jones is still mixing it up.
  • Quincy Jones attended his own memorial service, he tells Newsweek.
