What’s trending at the Everett Home & Garden Show

There’s blonde and brunette. And 50 shades of gray. But we’re not talking hair color. This is about floors.

After seeing examples on Pinterest and online, Kayla Clegg of Everett had her wood floors refinished in a gray tone.

“It is unique and original,” she said. “Everybody’s floor is brown.”

Vladimir Nikolin, owner of Hardwood Perfections in Marysville, said gray is a trending color.

“Gray gives a modern look,” he said.

Nikolin is among the 200 vendors at the Everett Home &Garden Show that runs through Saturday at Everett’s Xfinity Arena.

The offerings at the three-day expo cover everything under the sun: from indoor living and outdoor lounging to yoga and legal advice.

There’s stuff to kill moss on the roof, chase bugs, decorate the den, pamper pets, relax your back and make you look pretty.

“It’s a community event,” said Jim Ashe, event producer.

Visitors can attend free seminars by experts on skylights and roses, moles and voles.

Whispering Pines Custom Landscape will be back, this time with an interactive display with a water feature, terrace and fire pit.

No, you won’t burn your hands. It’s not THAT interactive.

Some of the booths might have some unexpected splashes.

“The Sea Scouts wanted to be next to the hot tubs so they can put in a remote control device for underwater detection,” Ashe said.

Visitors can expect old favorites, with a few exceptions.

There won’t be a tiny house this year.

“It took up too much space,” Ashe said.

He was serious.

Admission includes a free wine tasting sponsored by Dunn Lumber and free beer tasting sponsored by Judd &Black Appliance.

And the Girl Scouts will be on hand selling cookies.

A perfect pairing.
