Museums/Events

Cascadia Art Museum: Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. On third Thursdays, the museum is open until 8 p.m. and is free during Edmonds Art Walk hours, 5 to 8 p.m. Located at 190 Sunset Ave., Edmonds. Admission is $10, discounts for seniors and students; 425-336-4809; www.cascadiaartmuseum.org. “Northwest Photography at Mid-Century” and “Against the Moon: The Art of John Matsudaira” are the summer shows.

Schack Art Center: Hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Located at 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett. More at: 425-259-5050; www.schack.org. The Chuck Close print exhibit is displayed through Sept. 5. Admission is $10. Everett Museum of History portraits will be displayed in Studio 1 through Aug. 28. Schack classes include drawing, printmaking, basketry, jewelry and metalsmithing, encaustic, painting, fused glass, blown glass. The Fresh Paint Festival of Artists at Work is Aug. 20 and 21 at the Everett Marina.

Sculpture Exhibition: Six new pieces of art are on view through December at the Snohomish County government campus, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., Everett, as part of the 2016 Sculpture Exhibition sponsored by the Snohomish County Arts Commission. The sculptors each bring their own approaches to the craft.

Pilchuck Glass School open house: Noon to 5 p.m. July 10 at the world-class campus near Bryant. Reservations are required; pilchuck.com/events/open_house.

Arlington Arts Council: The council oversees rotating art exhibits during regular hours at the Arlington Library, 135 N Washington Ave., and Cascade Valley Hospital, 330 S. Stillaguamish Ave.; arlingtonartscouncil.net. Guides for outdoor gallery exhibits are available at the visitor information station near City Hall.

Art Loft Sisters at Fisherman’s Market and Grill: Regular business hours at 1032 W. Marine View Dr., Everett. Through August, see Dorinda Carlson’s abstract acrylic and oil pastel paintings, Inger Hutton’s watercolor paintings of fishing flies and butterflies, Sandra Kramer’s color compositions and Drew Carlson’s wearable art.

Arts of Snohomish Gallery: Noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday at 1024 First St., No. 104, Snohomish. More at 360-568-8648; www.artsofsnohomish.com. Featured artist through July is modernist painter Will Smith.

Edmonds Historical Museum: 1 to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday in the old Carnegie Library, 118 Fifth Ave. N., Edmonds; $5 for adults $2 for students; 425-774-0900; www.historicedmonds.org. Through July 3, see a traveling exhibit from the Burke Museum. “Salish Bounty: Traditional Native American Foods of Puget Sound” explores the revitalization of local native food traditions. Art, artifacts, maps and videos accompany the exhibit.

Edmonds Library Gallery: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday at 650 Main St., Edmonds. Janci Mannington’s portrait paintings are displayed through July 30.

Gallery North: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday through Friday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday at 401 Main St., Edmonds; 425-774-0946; gallerynorthedmonds.com. In June, see “Earth, Dust and Oil,” a show that features pottery by Melinda O’Malley and paintings by Lea Rene Welch. Registration is now open for the gallery’s August “Beauty of the Northwest” show. A Guilded Gallery: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday at 8700 271st St. NW, Stanwood; 360-629-2787; www.stanwoodcamanoarts.com. Painter Helen Lueken is the featured artist in June. Lynnwood Convention Center: Artists in the current exhibit are Charles Laurens Heald, Michael Lanka, Brooke Borcherding, Charlotte D’Amelio and Becky Fletcher. The display is up through summer.

Mountlake Terrace Arts Advisory Commission: The commission is seeking paintings, prints, drawings, miniatures, calligraphy, photographs, 3-dimensional and artisans’ works for its 38th annual Juried Art Show in September.
