Cascadia Art Museum: The new museum, located at 190 Sunset Ave., Edmonds, currently shows works featured in the Northwest Watercolor Society’s new book celebrating its 75th anniversary. Admission is $10. Free admission is offered during Edmonds’ third Thursday art walk events. Memberships begin at $50. Seniors in the same household may share a membership. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and until 8 p.m. on Thursday. The museum is closed Mondays and Tuesdays. The new book “A Fluid Tradition” is available for sale in the museum gift shop. More information is atcascadiaartmuseum.org.

Schack Art Center: 2921 Hoyt Ave., Everett; 425-259-5050; www.schack.org. The current exhibit at the Schack,“Vibrant Matter,” features the Schack’s 2015 Artists of the Year, photographer James Arrabito and sculptor Verena Schwippert through Sept. 19. This year’s Schacktoberfest is Sept. 24 through 27. Make or buy a glass pumpkin. Details are on the website. The popular Beer &Brat Night (5 to 9 p.m. Sept. 24) for adults features local brews, food by Das Brat Wagen and music from Preacher’s Wife. Watch the work in the hot shop and get a 10 percent discount on glass pumpkins that night. Cost is $25 or $20 for Schack members.

Edmonds Art Studio Tour: This self-guided, free, 10th annual tour is 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 19 and 20. More than 40 artists at 25 studios throughout Edmonds are participating. For more information, go to www.edmondsartstudiotour.com.

“Around the World” Art in the Park: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sept. 19 at Lowell Riverfront Park, Everett. Individuals of all ages and abilities are invited to create and experience a free fun-filled day with arts and crafts from Africa, France, the Orient, Mexico and the Pacific Northwest. A scavenger hunt, face painting, pinata, local entertainment, food vendors and featured artists are involved. Sponsored by All Aboard, a nonprofit located in Everett, the event benefits the organization’s scholarship fund.

National Gallery of Art’s “Intimate Impressionism” exhibition: The Frye Museum’s Rebecca Albiani gives a free preview of the exhibition at 2 p.m. Sept. 20, Everett Public Library Auditorium, 2702 Hoyt Avet. The exhibition, to be hung at the Seattle Art Museum, features 71 paintings by Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masters including Manet, Renoir, Monet, Boudin, Cézanne, Degas, Pissarro, Bonnard, Vuillard, Gauguin and van Gogh. Albiani earned degrees in art history from the University of California at Berkeley and Stanford University. She also had a fellowship at the National Gallery of Art.

“Arts of the Terrace”: The 37th annual Arts of the Terrace free art show is set for Sept. 26 through Oct. 11 at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W. Sponsored by the Mountlake Terrace Arts Commission and the Friends of the Arts, the exhibit is one of the major juried art shows held in the region.

Previously Loved Art Sale: The 12th annual sale is 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 3, at ArtWorks, Second and Dayton, downtown Edmonds. Find paintings, drawings, sculpture, art posters, crafts, art books and periodicals and art supplies. Also, it’s not too late to donate your previously loved art for the sale. Bring your donations to ArtWorks between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday, Thursday or Friday or call 425-774-6049 to make an appointment. Donations are tax deductible. ArtWorks is a gathering place for artists offering classes, workshops and exhibit space and is supported by the Edmonds Arts Festival Foundation. Landscape master Andy Eccleshall explores intriguing lighting and atmospheric effects in his new show of oil paintings, “Afterglow.” Bold contrasts and heavy light cascade throughout many of Eccleshall’s paintings, bringing an epic drama to his work. Eccleshall’s new realism show, through Oct. 15, captures the world of nature as it intersects with man. Watercolorist Ron Stocke’s new show of cafe, restaurant and bar scenes, inspired from his recent travels to Prague and Salzbur, runs through Oct. 5.

See photos and videos created by two BASE jumpers and learn about the science of diving headfirst off a cliff and soaring through the air at “The Art of Flight” on display Sept. 21 through Oct. 23. “The Art of Flight” includes wall-size projections, still photography, gear and a detailed infographic demonstrating the design and physics of free-falling flight. BASE (building, antenna, span and Earth) jumping, often featured in action movies, is parachute or wingsuit flying from a building or cliff. BASE jumpers acknowledge that it’s a highly dangerous sport that can easily injure or kill participants. The photos and videos were created by BASE jumpers Brandon Mikesell of Seattle and Ben McClure of Ephrata during jumping flights in France, Switzerland and the United States. Meet Mikesell and McClure during a public reception from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Sept. 24.

Photographer and digital artist Anne Prather decodes the rules of beauty in her exhibit “Transcendence” during September.
