Phoenix Theatre: The comedy theater is at 9673 Firdale Ave., Edmonds; 206-533-2000 or www.phoenixtheatreedmonds.org. “The Dixie Swim Club” will be produced at 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays through June 26. The comedy is about friendships that last a life time. Five Southern women who met on their college swim team set aside a weekend each August at the same beach house for time to laugh and meddle in each other’s lives. Tickets are $19 general admission or $16 for seniors, students and military. Directed by Simone Barron. The play is by the writers of Phoenix’s last season hit “Hallelujah Girls.” Starring Susan Connors, Jeannie Early, Bonnie Ronan, Ana Marie Lake and Melanie Calderwood.

“Suite Surrender,” an homage to the farces of the 1930s and ‘40s, June 10-26. Starring Cindy Giese French, Melody Mistlin, Terry Boyd, Jason Bradford, Ryan St. Martin, Greg Cochran, Mary Sabetto, Jennie Babcock and Kate Wirth.
The Festival of Shorts is July 8-10, featuring short plays by playwrights from around the country. Audiences pick the winner.

Red Curtain: Red Curtain Foundation for the Arts, a nonprofit arts education organization, has launched an effort to create an arts center in Marysville. The 2016-2017 season at the Red Curtain Community Arts Center features three plays carried over from the interrupted 2015-2016 season — “The Fantasticks,” “Arsenic and Old Lace” and “You Can’t Take It With You” — along with “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians,” “A Streetcar Named Desire” and “Noises Off!” Tickets are $17 for adults, $14 for seniors/students/military and $5 for children. Season tickets, on sale now, are $92 for adults and $75 for seniors, students and military personnel.
