Everett Community College: The college is one of three schools working with SketchFest Seattle to develop comedy skills and create a short set. EvCC students will perform at the three schools and end the tour with a show at 7 p.m. May 27 at The Pocket Theatre in Seattle, where they will open for Seattle sketch comedy group Day Job. Students participating include Sean Costello, Casey Cummins, Caitlin Goldsberry, Tyler Hamilton, Sarah Hudson, Jacy Leavitt, Christa Moushey, Colin Pinter, Josh Read and Carl Rodriguez. Performance coaches are EvCC theater instructor Beth Peterson and comedian Clayton Weller.

Phoenix Theatre: The comedy theater is at 9673 Firdale Ave., Edmonds; 206-533-2000 or www.phoenixtheatreedmonds.org. “The Dixie Swim Club” will be produced from June 3 to 26.

“Suite Surrender,” an homage to the farces of the 1930s and ‘40s, June 10 to 26.

Seventh annual Festival of Shorts is July 8-10, featuring short plays by playwrights from around the country. Audiences pick the winner.

“Billy Elliot,” the Broadway sensation, with music by Elton John, plays July 8 to 31.

Red Curtain: Red Curtain Foundation for the Arts, a nonprofit arts education organization, has launched its Founding Donors community giving program, an opportunity to support the creation of an arts center in Marysville. The 2016-2017 season at the Red Curtain Community Arts Center features three plays carried over from the interrupted 2015-2016 season — “The Fantasticks,” “Arsenic and Old Lace” and “You Can’t Take It With You” — along with “Santa Claus Conquers the Martians,” “A Streetcar Named Desire” and “Noises Off!” Tickets are $17 for adults, $14 for seniors/students/military and $5 for children. Season tickets, which go on sale June 1, are $92 for adults and $75 for seniors, students and military personnel.

Reflections School of Dance: The school presents its annual recital, “Colors,” at 3 p.m. June 18, Everett Civic Auditorium, 2415 Colby Ave. Recital tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students and seniors; www.reflectionsschoolofdance.com.
