The Equine Art Show is July 8, 9 and 10 at Emerald Downs.
The show is to encourage equine artists and to support the arts as part of horse-related sports. The show awards more than $6,000 in prize money, including $750 for youth categories.
Exhibited artwork is for sale and a portion of the proceeds support programs that are funded by the Washington Thoroughbred Foundation.
Art show hours are 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday; at Emerald Downs, 2300 Ron Crockett Dr., Auburn.

Hear those pipes: The 22nd annual Skagit Valley Highland Games &Celtic Festival is 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. July 9 and 10 at Edgewater Park, just across the Skagit River from downtown Mount Vernon.
The festival attracts more than 10,000 people, many who participate in all sorts of competitions including bagpiping, throwing heavy things and Highland dancing.
