Coffee, Cookies & Conversation: Dawson Place in Everett is raising funds and awareness about Child Abuse Prevention Month in April. Patrons who buy a blue pastry April 8-12 from the following bakeries and coffee shops in Everett will receive a blue ribbon or pinwheel as a symbol for helping to end child abuse: Petite Sweet Bakery, Choux Choux Bakery, Delite Bakery, Los Gavilanes, Mi Familia Panadería, Karl’s Café and Bakery, Café Wylde, Bargreens Coffee Co. and Tabby’s Coffee. Community breakfast: Monroe Community Senior Center’s next fundraising breakfast is 8 a.m. April 20 at the center, 276 Sky River Parkway, Monroe. There will be pancakes, French toast, eggs, sausage and ham. Cost is $6. Kids 10 and younger eat free. All proceeds benefit the senior center. The breakfast is held on third Saturdays. Norwegian pancakes: A Norwegian pancake breakfast is set for 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. April 20 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, 2111 117th Ave. NE, Lake Stevens. The breakfast includes all-you-can-eat Norwegian pancakes with strawberries, syrup and sliced ham. Coffee, tea, orange juice and hot chocolate also will be served. Cost is $6 per person. Free for children younger than 5. The pancake breakfast is held on third Saturdays from September through May. Call 425-334-0421.
